Smithsonian Announcement 90-62 October 19, 1990
On August 15, 1976, Secretary Ripley appointed John F. Jameson Assistant Secretary for Administration. The Office was responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial services, accounting, risk management, and planning and budget. The office was renamed Assistant Secretary for Finance and Administration in 1990, with Nancy D. Suttenfield serving in this position, 1990-1996, after which it was abolished in a reorganization.
