Summary

Consists of records documenting the Smithsonian American Art Museum's fundraising efforts in support of its programs, activities, exhibitions, and research projects during the tenures of Directors Charles C. Eldredge, 1982-1988; and Elizabeth Broun, 1989-2016. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, meeting minutes and reports, grant proposals, invitations, membership mailers, and exhibition narratives. Additionally, exhibition files include news clippings, photographs, transparencies, slides, and exhibition income and expense statements. Most records were created by Development Officer Florence Krench Miller.
