Consists of records documenting the Smithsonian American Art Museum's fundraising efforts in support of its programs, activities, exhibitions, and research projects during the tenures of Directors Charles C. Eldredge, 1982-1988; and Elizabeth Broun, 1989- . Materials include correspondence, memoranda, meeting minutes and reports, grant proposals, and exhibition narratives. Additionally, exhibition files include news clippings, photographs, transparencies, slides, and exhibition income and expense statements.
