Summary

Consists of records documenting the administrative and managerial activities of James M. Hobbins, Executive Assistant to the Secretary, 1980-2007. Records created prior to 1980 were created during the tenure of Dorothy Rosenburg, Executive Assistant to the Secretary, 1973-1979. Materials include correspondence between members of the Board of Regents, Smithsonian Secreatries (S. Dillon Ripley, Robert McCormick Adams, Ira Michael Heyman, and Lawrence M. Small), and Smithsonian staff pertaining to Smithsonian business and business before the Board of Regents.
