Consists of records documenting exhibition activities of the office for the Smithsonian American Art Museum, formerly the National Museum of American Art, and the Renwick Gallery. This office was formerly known as the Office of Registration and Collections Management and the Office of the Registrar. Materials include correspondence; memoranda; condition reports; checklists; insurance records; shipping invoices; lender files; budget records; prospectuses; loan agreements, conservation information; floor plans; brochures; color photographs, negatives, and transparencies; and black-and-white photographs. Some materials are in electronic format.
