Summary

Consists of incoming and outgoing correspondence and internal memoranda concerning general fiscal matters, estimates of appropriations, appropriation and expenditure statements, certified vouchers for the disbursement clerk, fiscal records pertaining to United States National Museum exhibitions at international expositions, and other personnel and administrative matters, during the tenures of William Van Zandt Cox, Chief Clerk, 1885-1902; and William de Chastignier Ravenel, Administrative Assistant, 1885-1931. Also included are brochures on other museums.
