Consists of records documenting scientific projects carried out by the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory. These records were maintained by Charles A. Lundquist. A small amount of material predates Lundquist's appointment as Assistant Director (Science) in 1962. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, teletype messages, project proposals, reports, photographs, publications, and newspaper clippings.
