Summary

Consists of records documenting administrative and financial activities of the observatory and the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics with regard to the Whipple Observatory operation. Matters include property management, construction, funding, personnel, procurement of equipment, and meetings. These records were created primarily by John G. Gregory. A small amount of records were created by his predecessors, Carlton W. Tillinghast and Robert V. Bartnik. Materials include correspondence, agreements, memoranda, budget records, contracts, notes, plans, meeting minutes, policies, applications, newsletters, schedules, grants, reports, proposals, photographs, and newspaper clippings.
