Summary

Consists of records documenting special projects in the National Museum of History and Technology and throughout the Smithsonian during the tenures of Directors Frank A. Taylor, 1958-1964; John Canfield Ewers, 1964-1965; Robert P. Multhauf, 1966-1968; Daniel J. Boorstin, 1969-1973; and Brooke Hindle, 1974-1978. Records predating 1958 partially document the administration of Remington Kellogg as Director of the United States National Museum, 1948-1962. Materials include press releases, audit reports, minutes of meetings, correspondence and memoranda, newspaper and magazine articles, photographs, project proposals, budgetary files, and copies of legislation.
