Joseph Henry: An Enduring Legacy
From November 6, 1997, through January 18, 1998, the exhibit "Joseph Henry: An Enduring
Legacy" was on view in the Mandeville Gallery at Union College, Schenectady, New York, to
commemorate the bicentennial of Henry's birth (December 17, 1797). Frank Wicks, professor
of engineering at Union College, from which Henry had received an honorary degree in 1829,
and Rachel Seligman, director/curator of the Mandeville Gallery, curated the exhibit. We are
pleased that Ms. Seligman has granted us permission to make this online presentation of
their exhibit catalogue, which was originally published by the Mandeville Gallery
(copyright 1997).
