Allosaurus is Moved to NMNH, by Tinsley, Jeffrey Wayne 1947-2017, 1987, Smithsonian Archives - History Div, On April 28,1987, a one-ton fiberglass sculpture of an Allosaurus was lifted by crane from an Allied moving van, carefully winched up the stairs and trundled through the doors of the National Museum of Natural History. The dinosaur was moved in for the exhibit "Dinosaurs, Past and Present" which is the largest and most comprehensive exhibit of dinosaur art ever exhibited.
