Offices of the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute in Cali, Colombia, in June of 1969. Standing on the steps are Carlos Lehman, director of the Cali Natural History Museum; A. Stanley Rand, herpetologist, appointed Biologist at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (STRI) in Panama in 1964, from 1974 to 1979, Assistant Director at STRI, and in 1979 named Senior Biologist; Robert Dressler, botanist at STRI 1963-1985; and Martin H. Moynihan, STRI director 1957-1973.
