Taken on one of Waldo L. Schmitt's expeditions, in Moche, Peru, a bridge tender, who helped Schmitt collect marine invertebrates, and his family. Waldo LaSalle Schmitt, curator, Division of Marine Invertebrates, United States National Museum (USNM), went on numerous field trips to South America.
