At the Louisiana Purchase Exposition, Saint Louis, Missouri, 1904, Smithsonian Institution's United States National Museum exhibit includes the Langley Aerodrome, a model of a whale suspended from the ceiling, natural history exhibits, archaeological objects, and industrial machines.
