Summary

Allegorical group of statuary representing "Columbia Protecting Science and Industry" was placed above the north entrance to the United States National Museum (now the Arts and Industries Building.) "Columbia" is in the center. "Science," on the left, is depicted reading a book with the owl of wisdom at her feet. "Industry," seated to the right, holds a hammer and surveying instrument. The statue was done by New York sculptor Casper Burberl.
