Summary

The original Wright Flyer of 1903 hangs from the ceiling in the Arts and Industries Building when it first came to the Smithsonian in December 1948. Behind the Wright Flyer the lower part of the Spirit of St. Louis is visible and on the right of the photograph the Star-Spangled Banner is visible in its exhibit case.
