Summary

Two unidentified workers elevating the Joseph Henry statue on wooden supports while the Mall is regraded, November 8, 1934. Joseph Henry was the first Secretary of the Smithsonian (1846-1878). The Smithsonian Institution Building is on the right and the United States Capitol and other buildings are visible in the distance. Several cars are parked in front of the Castle.
