Summary

Frank Gass and Washington Adams in the International Exchange Service office in the Smithsonian Institution Building, between 1886 and 1890. Gass worked for the International Exchange Service from 1886-1890, and then as a clerk and Chief Clerk until 1946. In 1940 Gass was given trip to the New York World's Fair as the Federal employee with the longest continuos service. Adams was Chief Clerk, International Exchange Service, from 1896 to 1905; Accountant, 1905-1912; and Disbursing Agent, 1912-1924.
