Summary

First Ladies Exhibit reinstalled in the West North Range of the Arts and Industries Building on May 24, 1955. The exhibit shows figures with the gowns removed from the glass exhibit cases and placed in period decorated rooms. Left to right: Martha Johnson Patterson, daughter of President Andrew Johnson; Mary Todd Lincoln; Harriet Lane, niece of President of James Buchanan; Jane Appleton Pierce; Abigail Powers Fillmore; Betty Taylor Bliss, daughter of President Zachary Taylor.
