Summary

Conservator working on restoring George Catlin's Indian paintings for the National Collection of Fine Arts, now the National Museum of American Art, exhibit of 85 of Catlin's paintings. The exhibit opened December 15, 1961 in the Natural History Building, and features original paintings from the Smithsonian's George Catlin collection depicting Native Americans of the early West.
