The work is titled 'The Fascinating Charm of Field and Sky' and was painted by William Henry Holmes at his home near Rockville, Maryland. It was done around 1920 and presented by Holmes to the Cosmos Club, a society of scientists and intellectuals located in Washington, D.C., in 1926.
