An exhibit case of the Burial Mound Cultures of the Southeast, which spread from Ohio and Illinois over much of the southeastern United States during the first 1000 years A.D., contains artifacts of the principal variants of the culture. The exhibit is on display in the National Museum of Natural History's North American Archeology Exhibit which opened in November 1962.
