Summary

Thomas "Tom" Peyton, Jr., director of Facilities Services (April 1979-January 1986) at the Quadrangle construction site. He was awarded the Secretary's Gold Medal for Exceptional Services on December 18, 1985, for "significantly improved planning, budgeting and oversight for a complex array of construction and renovation projects," among other achievements. Among the major projects he supervised during his tenure were the construction of the Museum Support Center and the Quadrangle and the restoration of the Renwick Gallery and the Arts and Industries Building.
