Summary

At the 11th annual (1977) Festival of American Folklife, Swedish-born Countess Stella Andrassy uses her own solar oven to demonstrate solar cooking as part of the Outdoor Presentation of "America's Appetite (For Energy)". Prominent in the solar energy field, concern for the energy need of the world's poor motivated her lifelong work. She held patents on solar water heaters, stills, stoves, and food driers.
