Louis S. Casey (right), Curator of Aircraft, National Air and Space Museum, accepts the gift of the Buecker Jungmeister biplane flown by aerobatic pilot Bevo Howard from Howard's son, Beverly E. Howard, Jr. Howard began flying at air shows in the early 1930's and won three national and world champions. His 1936 vintage German aircraft, which had been reconstructed after being almost totally destroyed in the crash that took the aviator's life in 1971, is one of a type that was considered the world's outstanding sport plane for several decades.
