  • The gift of the Barney House Studio (2306 Massachusetts Avenue), home of Alice Pike Barney, by Laura Dreyfus Barney is announced by Secretary Carmichael at the Smithsonian Art Commission annual meeting.
  • The Barney Studio House is an art center with a unique setting created by artist Alice Pike Barney. It is located in Sheridan Circle in Washington, D.C. and is administered by the National Museum of American Art, which is now known as the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
