Basement of the United States National Museum, now the National Museum of Natural History, with its brick columns, is filled with construction material. Stonework for the exterior is lined up on the floor; and scattered about are workers' personal belongings, including shoes, coats, and a coffee cup. Photo was taken November 28, 1908.
