Summary

Fifth Smithsonian Institution Secretary (1928-1944) Charles Greeley Abbot (1872-1973) at age eleven with his water wheel and brook dam. Abbot is seated in the upper right corner of the picture, wearing a hat, and working with his equipment. This picture is difficult to see clearly because there is a great deal of sunlight combined with the trees, bushes, and water.
