Summary

The Central Hall of the East Wing of the first floor of the new United States National Museum, now known as the National Museum of Natural History. 'Showing light well with balcony openings, part of ceiling light, and the screen walls between the piers on each side. The painting "Diana of the Tides" is on the distant wall of the light well. Exhibition of fossil vertebrates.' (from United States National Museum Bulletin 80.)
