Summary

A contract is signed by the architects McKim, Mead and White, and the Smithsonian to design the Museum of History and Technology Building. Legislation appropriating an additional $33,712,000 for the Museum of History and Technology, to be located on the Mall in an area bounded by Constitution Avenue, 12th Street, Madison Drive, and 14th Street (P.L. 573), is also signed, bringing the total amount appropriated to $36 million.
