The Smithsonian Secretary's Badge of Office is a gold owl motif pendant. In this view, the pendant is displayed in its storage box, which has the name of the maker, Leslie Durbin of London, England, on the top half of the box. The Secretary's Badge of Office was created by the 8th Secretary, S. Dillon Ripley, c. 1965.
