Notes

  • Date is from internal IHD chronology without source. There is no mention in the Annual Report for that year; however, in the 1950 Annual Report it mentions that during the past 2 to 3 years the job of modernizing exhibits has begun and will proceed as funds become available. The 1954 AR states that the program is initiated in 1954 with a $360,000 Congressional appropriation. The 1957 AR states that the fourth year of the modernization program has come to a close.
