Summary

Portrait photograph of Harrison Gray Dyar (1866-1929), entomologist at the United States National Museum at the Smithsonian from 1897 until his death in 1929. For much of that time, Dyar was employed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and served as an Honorary Curator at the USNM. Dyar focused his work on limacodid moths and mosquitoes. He is perhaps best know for his hobby of digging tunnels behind his two homes and the fact that he was a bigamist.
