Summary

The Division of Radiation and Organisms becomes a branch of the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory and receives a Congressional appropriation for the support of its researches. The Division was originally founded in 1929. The work of the Division comes under three headings: Photosynthesis, plant growth and radiation, and development of apparatus and methods.
