Summary

Led by Dr. William M. Mann, director of the National Zoological Park, the National Geographic Society-Smithsonian Institution Expedition travels around the world to obtain zoo animals. By 1956, through the disposal of surplus breeding stock resulting from the expedition, the National Zoological Park has recouped more than the entire cost of the trip.
