Marsh Collection Deposited in LC & Corcoran
Following the fire in the Smithsonian Building on January 24, 1865, the Institution's collection of prints and engravings, purchased from George Perkins Marsh, are deposited in the Library of Congress and the Corcoran Gallery of Art (along with other paintings) for safekeeping.
