Summary

United States Congress' appropriation for the preservation of government collections increases to $15,000. An additional $10,000 is appropriated for completion of the hall required for the collections. On May 18, Congress also appropriated $5,000 to properly fit-up, in a fire proof manner, vacant appartments in the Smithsonian Institution Building for distribution and exhibition of government collections of natural history, geology, and mineralogy.
