Summary

Dr. Robert Hare's Electrical Machine which was displayed in the Apparatus Room in the Smithsonian Institution Building. A professor of chemistry at the University of Pennsylvania, Hare donated his collection of chemical and physical apparatus to the Institution in 1848. Hare had constructed this machine himself.
