Summary

The United States National Herbarium is recalled from the United States Department of Agriculture. The Herbarium had been established as a joint project of the Smithsonian and the United States Department of Agriculture, its holdings consisting of botanical specimens collected by exploring expeditions, by authors of botanical works, travelers, and special collectors.
