Summary

On April 28,1987, a one-ton fiberglass sculpture of an Allosaurus was lifted by crane from an Allied moving van, carefully winched up the stairs and trundled through the doors of the National Museum of Natural History. The dinosaur was moved in for the exhibit "Dinosaurs, Past and Present" which is the largest and most comprehensive exhibit of dinosaur art ever exhibited. The exhibit ran from June 4 through August 31, 1987. The photograph shows the dinosaur, still in his crate, and movers in front of the Natural History Building.
