United States National Museum, now known as the National Museum of Natural History (NMNH), North Entrance Lobby (Foyer), looking west, soon after the building was completed. "The doors communicating with the vestibule are on the right, the entrance into the central hall is on the left, and the door opening into the west range is in the center background" (from U.S. National Museum Bulletin 80). The lobby (foyer) is empty except for a desk by the entrance door.
