Summary

The "Bulletin of the United States National Museum" begins publication. The new series is part of the "Miscellaneous Collections" and is intended to illustrate the collections of natural history and ethnology belonging to the United States, and constituting the National Museum, of which the Smithsonian Institution is the custodian. The bulletins are prepared at the request of the Institution by different individuals, and are printed by the authority of the Secretary of the Interior at the Government Printing Office.
