PrintSection 2 of this Act contains amendments to title 5, United States Code. The term "law enforcement officer" is defined and many technical amendments relate to the National Zoological Park (NZP) police. Details concern provisions for pay and retirement for law enforcement officers. The Office of Personnel Management may prescribe regulations necessary for the administration of this Act. Travel and transportation expenses of new appointees and student trainees are set forth. Amendments to the Federal Employees Pay Comparability Act of 1990 and to the Ethics in Government Act of 1978 are delineated. Miscellaneous provisions, including those relating to retroactive performance awards, are also described.
