Summary

This Act may be cited as the "Animal Welfare Act of 1970". Amendments to the Act of August 24, 1966 (Public Law 89-544; 80 Stat. 350) include definitions for: affecting commerce; research facility; dealer; animal; and exhibitor. Additional regulations are promulgated concerning: registration; purchase restrictions; enforcement; recordkeeping; identification; humane standards, auction sales; experts and consultants; inspections; penalties; and dealer license suspension.
