Summary

A chapter on life insurance within this Act sets forth definitions of "employee." The definition does not include a noncitizen employee whose permanent duty station is outside the United States. The legislative purpose in enacting sections 1-6 of this Act is to restate, without substantive change, the laws replaced by those sections on the effective date of this Act. Laws effective after June 30, 1965, that are inconsistent with the Act are considered as superseding it to the extent of the inconsistency. A reference to a law replaced by sections 1-6 of this Act, including a reference in a regulation, order, or other law, is deemed to refer to the corresponding provision enacted by this Act. A schedule of laws repealed is provided and includes: An Act of July 2, 1940, ch. 516, 54 Stat. 724, section 3; An Act of Oct. 28, 1949, ch. 782, 63 Stat. 971-72, sections 1101, 1103-07; and An Act of Sept. 23, 1959, Pub. L. No. 86-379, 73 Stat. 702.
