Summary

The amendments provide that the special police may be furnished, without charge, with uniforms and such other equipment as may be necessary for the proper performance of their duties, including badges, revolvers, and ammunition. The term "buildings and grounds" shall mean the Smithsonian Institution and its grounds, the National Zoological Park, all buildings, service roads, walks, and other areas within the exterior boundaries of any real estate or land or interest in land which shall hereafter be acquired by the Smithsonian Institution, and the National Gallery of Art and its grounds. Detailed descriptions of the various grounds are included. The special police are authorized to enforce concurrently with the United States Park Police the laws and regulations applicable to the National Capital Parks. The enforcement power of the special police is delineated.
