Completion of Wings of Smithsonian Building

PrintThe Building Committee reports that the east and west wings and ranges of the Smithsonian Institution Building or "Castle" are completed, and the lecture room has been enlarged in the east wing to accommodate one thousand persons (AR 1849, p. 61).
