Summary

In his memorial, Charles Lewis Fleischmann expressed his hope that a portion of the Smithsonian fund be used to found an agricultural school. He detailed the importance of agriculture in western society and argued that it would benefit the entire country to have a school dedicated to the teaching of agricultural methods. He also offered a budgeted plan for all that the agriculture school should include, including a farm, mills, workshop, livestock etc.
