Summary

The Senate considers the bill from the House of Representatives to repeal the sixth section of the Act to provide for the support of the Military Academy and to prohibit the investment of funds of the United States in the stocks of the several states. It is questioned whether this would affect existing investments or only future investments. This is relevant to the Smithsonian fund because it was currently invested in state stocks.
