- The following sums are appropriated: $19,000 for International exchanges; $45,000 for ethnological researches among the American Indians, including salaries of necessary employees; $10,000 for maintenance of the Astrophysical Observatory; $30,000 for furniture for the National Museum, including salaries of employees; $14,000 for heating, lighting, electrical, telegraphic, and telephonic service for the National Museum; $160,000 for the preservation of the collections from the surveying and exploring expeditions of the Government; $4,000 for building repairs; $2,000 for rent of workshops; $500 for postage stamps and foreign postal cards; $8,000for construction of galleries; $2,500 for removal and rebuilding of sheds; $55,000 for continuing the construction of roads, walks, bridges, water supply, sewerage and drainage and for grounds maintenance of the National Zoological Park.
- Of the sum hereby appropriated $5,000 shall be used for continuing the entrance into the Zoological Park from Woodley Lane and opening driveway into Zoological Park from the bank of Rock Creek. The sum of $12,000 is provided for printing labels and blanks for the annual volumes of the National Museum and for binding scientific books and pamphlets acquired by the National Museum Library.
