PrintThe following sums are appropriated: $143,250 for preserving collections of the National Museum; $12,500 for furniture; $13,000 for heating, lighting, electrical, telegraphic, and telephonic service; $500 for postage stamps and foreign postal cards; $4,000 for repairs to buildings; $900 for rent of workshops for the National Museum; $55,000 for continuing the construction of roads, walks, bridges, water supply, sewerage, and drainage at the National Zoological Park; $9,000 for maintenance of the Astrophysical Observatory; $17,000 for expenses of the system of international exchanges; $800 for fire protection; $40,000 for continuing ethnological researches among the American Indians; $12,000 for printing labels and blanks, annual volumes , and binding scientific books and pamphlets.
